Carnival Destiny Gets Refurbishment during Drydock

Carnival Destiny returned to service in October 2005 after a 21-day drydock. While its mechanical needs tended to, and it was out of the water, a number of areas were upgraded and refurbished.

Those included the pool area where new whirlpools were installed.

The work also included relocation of the bandstand. By moving it up one deck, it opened more deck space on the pool deck around the pool.

The outdoor renovations included the Sun & Sea poolside restaurant which now has new tile work, updated lighting, new carpeting and chairs and a new espresso bar.

The Lido restaurant also saw extensive refurbishment.
The casino was refurbished with a new poker pit, new lighting and furniture.

Backstage work, which includes new lighting and rigs, was completed in the Palladium Theater. Cosmetic work was undertaken in most of the public rooms including the Onyx Lounge, Point After Dance Club, and the Apollo Piano Bar.

A new teen club was constructed to support Carnival's new O2 teen program. The club, located on Deck 11, features a dance floor, a state-of-the-art sound and light system, three large plasma screen TV's. music listening stations, video game pods and a "mocktail lounge" which serves virgin specialty drinks.
The ship's 48 suites and penthouse suites received new bathrooms, carpeting and wall coverings.
The Category 12 suites are shown here.
