Cirque de Celebrity

These photos accompanied the article which appeared in Cruise News Daily on December 2. The article described the changes which have taken place and Celebrity Cruises plans for the partnership with Cirque du Soleil.

Cast pictures are cast pictures, except at Cirque du Soleil, and then things can get just plain weird.

At left is the debut cast aboard Summit.

"A Taste of Cirque du Soleil debuted aboard Celebrity Cruises' Summit this week. It has been in previews for the last three weeks aboard Constellation.

Celebrity Cruises' Director of Entertainment, Mike Thomas, said that Cirque takes "the human capability beyond what anybody could imagine."
... and once they reach that limit of what you can imagine, they go beyond - hanging from a rope, no less.
Even the jugglers exceed that limit.

"A Taste of Cirque du Soleil" focuses on the human artistry, so the stage is almost bare except for the performer, allowing the audience to focus on what the artists do and nothing else.

The debut cast of "A Taste of Cirque du Soleil" aboard Celebrity Cruises' Constellation is seen at left.

The cast will change constantly as performers rotate on and off the ships, presenting a similar but different show with each change.

While this aerial act, currently aboard Constellation, is similar to the one aboard Summit, they are quite distinct.
This artist who performs in a double wheel aboard Constellation while the similar act aboard Summit uses on a single hoop.
A special thanks to master photographer Michel Verdure who worked into the night so we could bring you these photos the day after the official debut aboard Summit.
