Raising the Flag

Norwegian Sky becomes Pride of Aloha as the US flag is raised, and the Bahamian flag (on left) is lowered in a ceremony in San Francisco on June 7.
Applauding the change are three of Pride of Aloha's officers, (left to right) Staff Captain, Ron Chrastina; Hotel Director, James Deering; and Safety Manager Jim Ancelli.
Looking on are members of the Coast Guard which have been involved in the conversion and approval on the new US-flagged vessel.
Along with a new name, the ship also received new hull art representing its new Hawaiian home as part of its multi-million-dollar refurbishment.
Pride of Aloha will sail several coastal cruises before repositioning to Honolulu for its inaugural sailing on July 4.
