AIDAluna Floats Out

The 69,200-ton AIDAluna made its first appearance late Friday afternoon (February 13) when it was towed out of Meyer Werft's covered building dock at Papenburg, Germany. The operation continued through the evening. The ship is tentatively scheduled to transit the Ems River on Saturday (February 21) to begin its sea trials. Handover to Carnival Corp is planned for March 16, and the ship will enter service on March 21.
Following the undocking on Friday, the ship was towed to the center of the harbor on Saturday morning for testing. AIDAluna was then docked at the outdoor finishing dock, where it will remain until its river transit next week.
