Everything's Coming up Roses for Cunard

Is this a little too splashy? Cunard's first float in Pasadena's Tournament of Roses Parade will be 24 feet high, 18 feet wide and 55 feet long, and pursuant to parade rules, every square inch of the float will be covered in flowers or vegetation. It will take 45,000 red Opium roses to carpet the stairs and floors alone. The float will depict the stairs of a Cunard queen's grand lobby descending into a Queens Room Ballroom, where dancers will be dancing to a live big band orchestra. There will even be theatrical smoke coming from the signature black and red funnel. The picture, made of flowers, at the back of the stairs will depict the three Cunard queens meeting in New York just a few days after the New Year's Day parade, on January 13, 2011.
