Celebrity Eclipse Nearing Completion

Early Sunday morning (February 28, 2010), Celebrity Eclipse was towed out of Meyer Werft's massive covered building dock at Papenburg (Germany) for the first time and docked at the yard's finishing dock. A short series of engine tests was also conducted on Sunday morning. The ship will be completed in the next few days, and the crew has begun to move aboard. The ship is scheduled to sail down the Eems River (backwards, as is the procedure) on March 12/13 toward the sea and its sea trials. Celebrity Eclipse will enter service in April at Southampton.
Celebrity Eclipse's bow is shown just before the float out. The open doors can be seen behind the ship.
