AIDAblu Floated Out

AIDAblu, the fourth in the class of six ships Meyer Werft is building for Carnival's AIDA unit, was floated out today from Meyer's covered building dock in Papenburg, Germany. The early-morning hours meant sub-freezing temperatures in the upper 20's. (Note the ice in the water.) The ship will be docked at the yard's finishing dock until its river transit, now scheduled to begin on January 16. The 71,100-ton ship is scheduled to enter service next month.
AIDAblu is shown here in the building dock shortly before it was floated up.
